Collection of essential repair items for DIY small projects
Silver paste: Dries quickly for thin applications
Can be used to "solder" a wire down with a glob of paste however this requires long drying times and the connection remains fragile
Tips: dry with low temp heat source (space heater on low, hair dryer, etc...) If strength is needed, cover the dried connection with another glue or epoxy.
Carbon Grease: Never dries out. Use a small amount to improve conductivity in spring contacts, twisted wires, corroded contact points, etc..
Deoxit D100L: Excellent electronic contact cleaner. Use to clean and neutralize battery corrosion and oxidization. Can be left in place to continue cleaning for weeks or months. Not good on copper surfaces including gold plated copper. If coper is involved you can use Deoxit to clean metal contacts but it should be cleaned off with isopropyl alcohol as it will create a green buildup over weeks or months that causes problems. Also keep Deoxit away from rubber as it will absorb into rubber and cause it to expand.
Nickel Tape: Conductive adhesive! Cover corroded battery contacts. Build a new circuit trace. Adhesive conducts electricity so it can be placed on top of exposed metal contact points.
Copper Tape: Adhesive is NOT conductive but you can solder to this tape!
