The ResMed S8 is a great little machine but it has one serious problem with the buttons.
The keypad is designed with carbon painted pads on the end of the silicone pad. These types of buttons are the least reliable. The conductive material can wear out both with use and exposure to air over time. It would take many years but a new unit that has been sitting in the box for a long time could have button problems right out of the box.
The ButtonWorx™ repair pad is installed without having to remove any screws! Once installed your old keypad (when pressed) will push down on the new button membrane and complete the switch. ButtonWorx™ conductive dots are held just above the circuit board contacts with a very thin spacer. The membrane buttons install by sticking them to the plastic side wall of the button chamber (after temporarily removing the rubber keypad).
ButtonWorx™ material has been tested over 1 million button presses and over a decade. ButtonWorx™ should never wear out under normal circumstances and you should never need to worry about your buttons giving you trouble again.
Humidifiers
Attached humidifiers need to be removed before you can easily take the keypad cover plate off. There are several different humidifiers and I am not sure how they all attach.

This product is awesome! I was having trouble turning my cpap on/off. I was having to push the button multiple times, actually mashing it down trying each side of the button before it would register. Very frustrating! I thought I was going to need a new cpap machine then I found this. It was so easy to install and it works perfectly just like new. Just 1 little tap of the button works now. Fixed for around $12. What a deal!

I can sleep!
For some time I had to ram the button down for about 5 seconds to turn on the machine then the button stopped working altogether so had to unplug every morning & plug in every night. Tonight it just stopped working altogether and couldn’t do anything to start up. 1am I got up, followed the video, 15 minutes later & I now simply press lightly on each button & get instant response. THANK YOU! Took a few weeks for the kit to arrive but from America to Australia that’s to be expected & well worth the wait

Cleaning of the CPAP was easy - get a small bottle of 99% isopropyl alcohol before starting.
