NOTE: This is designed to be a put-in-place repair with the option of peel and stick. I have not tried this in a working machine so I can't tell you how responsive the buttons are when the backing paper is left on and the pieces put in place. It should be fine, but the backing paper adds a paper thin additional height which may be noticeable. I recommend trying put-in-place first because it's easier. Please send me some feedback on how they work for you so I can better inform people.
The buttons are manufactured to length, making it easy to place multiple buttons at the same time. This greatly improves installation over having to individually place each button one at a time. For example, the keyboard button repair membranes come in strings of 8 so to lay down a complete row of12 little buttons you can place a row of 8 and then half of another set of 8 for a total of 12 buttons with only 2 steps.
The small single buttons on the left side of the unit are spaced apart a little more than the letter keyboard buttons so an additional spacer is added between some. This way you can install 5 buttons at a time without having to line them up individually.
